Things to Do

One of the best things to do in the West End is skiing and riding. Aspen offers some of the best mountain terrain in the world across four peaks in the Aspen Snowmass system. The closest option to the West End is Aspen Mountain Ski Resort, featuring steep runs through the alpine forest, as well as beginner-groomed slopes. The resort also features five-star dining and shopping options and an elegant spa.

The Aspen Institute is a non-profit think tank devoted to curating the best and most innovative ideas for today’s problems. They host a variety of events and provide services for the community. One such event is the Aspen Ideas Festival, which gathers the best and brightest of our minds today for discussions and sharing of ideas. The event takes place in June each year and promotes free thinking and creativity.

The Aspen Music Festival and School hosts an amazing live music series throughout the year, including classical music and more modern stage performances. They also host a summer music festival each year when the snow melts.

Another great option for the warmer months in the West End is the Marolt Bike Path and Trail. This paved trail is perfect for runners, walkers, or cyclists and takes visitors around Aspen.

Schools

Aspen is served by Aspen School District and also has several early learning and continuing education options for residents.
