East Aspen is located east of the downtown core of Aspen, Colorado. Known for its quiet and seclusion, this part of town offers tranquil streets filled with trees and views of the Rockies. This relaxed neighborhood has easy access to trails for both summer and winter adventures, as well as lifts for accessing Aspen Snowmass. East Aspen is serene and peaceful but just a short walk away from all the action in the downtown core.

There are also plenty of opportunities for apres skiing and nightlife in the area, with live music and other exciting events throughout the year.

At night, there is plenty of entertainment to enjoy in the downtown core, just a short walk away from East Aspen. Belly Up is an intimate music venue with open seating that allows guests to get up close and personal with the big-name acts hosted here. With two bars and plenty of room to mingle, this is one of the best venues for a night out.

When it’s time to wake up and hit the slopes in the morning, the first stop is a local coffee shop for hot drinks and breakfast. Luckily, in East Aspen, there are many to choose from, such as the Local Coffee House, which serves hand-crafted espresso drinks with an ample tea menu and breakfast bites. In the afternoon, the chic space creates unique cocktails served alongside light fare for lunch.

In the evening, there’s no shortage of high-end dining in Aspen. Chef Nobu creates a unique Japanese-based tasting menu at his acclaimed restaurant, Matsuhisa. In a cozy dining room, guests are taken through an incredible culinary expedition with uniquely crafted seafood, sushi, and cocktails. The Wild Fig offers a romantic, candlelit dining room featuring fine French cuisine with influences from Greece, Spain, and Italy.
 

Things to Do

Commonly known as Ajax, Aspen Mountain is the easiest mountain to access from East Aspen. A short walk to Gondola Plaza allows for easy access to the lifts at this mountain and all the incredible terrain it has to offer. Aspen has diverse terrain that suits every ability level, from beginner riders to backcountry powder runs through the alpine forest. 

A shuttle bus runs from the downtown core area to the other mountains in the Aspen Snowmass Resort. With one lift pass, you are able to ski or ride four different mountains. Buttermilk offers an amazing selection of terrain parks suitable for children and beginners. Aspen Highlands is famed for some of the steepest, most challenging terrain and the legendary Highland Bowl. Snowmass offers a diverse selection of terrain with something for skiers and riders of all abilities.

Synder Park is a hidden gem in East Aspen. Unknown to many, this peaceful park is quiet and offers calming relaxation to its visitors. With quaint walking trails, pets are welcome to enjoy the space with their owners.

Nearby in West Aspen, the Aspen Golf Club offers perfectly manicured greens with stunning views of Aspen Mountain, the Continental Divide, and the Rockies. The club offers award-winning services with lessons, as well as a state-of-the-art clubhouse and tennis facilities.
